# Schedule and Edit Appointments

> Book a dock appointment straight from an order, and change any appointment after it's booked.

This page is for **Facilities**: warehouse and dock teams that run their facility's appointment schedule in Owlery. If the person you're helping isn't on a facility team, this page doesn't apply to them.

**Where to find it:** `Orders → Order Drawer` to schedule, and `Dock Scheduling → Appointments` to edit

If your organization owns the facility, your team can book appointments for your own orders and change any appointment on your calendar.

> [!NOTE]
>
> These options are only available if your organization uses Owlery Dock Scheduling.

## Schedule From an Order

**1. Open the order**

Go to **Orders** and click the order to open the **Order Drawer**.

**2. Schedule the appointment**

Click **Schedule**, fill in the appointment details, and confirm.

As a facility operator, you can search for orders by partial order number, reference number, or load number, and add several orders to one appointment. See [Find Your Orders](/dock-scheduling/book-an-appointment.md#book-an-appointment).

## Edit an Appointment

**1. Open the appointment**

Go to `Dock Scheduling → Appointments` and click the appointment on the calendar. See [find an appointment](/facilities/finding-appointments.md) if you need to track it down.

**2. Make your changes**

Edit the appointment and save. You can change everything you could set when the appointment was first booked.

## Who Hears About a Change

When you change an appointment, who Owlery tells depends on who booked it:

| Who booked it | Is the carrier notified? |
| - | - |
| **The carrier, in Owlery** | Yes. Owlery emails the carrier at the address they booked with. |
| **Your team, on the carrier's behalf** | Only if you added the carrier as an appointment update recipient. |

When you book for a carrier, add their email under **Appointment update recipients** in the **Booking Details** section. Owlery then emails them about changes, just like a carrier who booked it themselves. To add them later, edit the appointment.

> [!WARNING]
>
> If the carrier isn't an appointment update recipient, tell them about any change yourself. Otherwise the driver may arrive at the original time.

For every email Owlery sends and who gets it, see [Appointment Emails](/facilities/appointment-emails.md).
