# Ramp Configuration Reference

> Every Ramp setting: mappings, bill type, and when bills are sent.

This page is for **Shippers**: teams that quote, tender, and pay for freight in Owlery. If the person you're helping isn't a shipper, this page doesn't apply to them.

**Where to find it:** `Settings → Integrations`. On the Ramp card, click **Settings**.

You can change these in **Settings**, except where noted. Changes save automatically and apply to the next bill Owlery sends.

## Routing & Mappings

| Setting | What it controls |
| - | - |
| Accounting system | Whether NetSuite or QuickBooks sits behind Ramp |
| Vendors | Which Ramp vendor each carrier or broker bills as |
| Entities | Which Ramp entity each Owlery organization books to, including child organizations that use a parent's connection |
| GL accounts | Which Ramp GL account each Owlery GL code books to |
| Classes | Which Ramp class each Owlery GL code books to, with an optional **Default** row for unmapped GL codes |
| Invoice export mode | Send draft bills for review, or, with QuickBooks, approved bills |

Owlery reads the GL code from the load's tags. It picks one GL account and one class per invoice and applies them to every line. The organization only decides the Ramp entity.

Each organization maps to exactly one Ramp entity. If an organization maps to more than one, Owlery doesn't send its bills. If it maps to none, Owlery sends the bill without an entity.

If you use NetSuite subsidiaries, follow [subsidiary setup and verification](/shippers/ramp-netsuite-payments.md#subsidiaries-when-using-ramp-with-netsuite) so each bill reaches the right subsidiary.

## Settings Owlery Manages

| Setting | What it controls |
| - | - |
| Automatic sending | Send each invoice to Ramp as soon as it's approved. Owlery turns this on for you. Without it, send bills by hand from the Invoices page. |

See [Sending Bills to Ramp](/shippers/ramp/writing-back.md) for how bill types and sending work.
