# SOS Inventory Integration

> Connect SOS Inventory, choose what syncs, and let Owlery handle the rest.

This page is for **Shippers**: teams that quote, tender, and pay for freight in Owlery. If the person you're helping isn't a shipper, this page doesn't apply to them.

Owlery connects to SOS Inventory and brings sales orders, purchase orders, transfers, item records, locations, customers, vendors, units, and packaging into Owlery.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If your team keeps SKUs in a different item field, Owlery can read it from there. You don't need to change your existing item records.

**Where to find it:** `Settings → Integrations`

## Two Parts of the Integration

> **[Reading Data](/shippers/sos-inventory/reading-data.md)**
>
> Sync sales orders, purchase orders, transfers, and your item master.

> **[Configuration Reference](/shippers/sos-inventory/configuration.md)**
>
> Change what syncs and how Owlery reads your data in **Settings**.

Owlery reads from SOS Inventory and doesn't write back to it. If you need updates sent back, Owlery scopes them with you.

## Getting Started

**1. Connect**

An authorized user [connects SOS Inventory to Owlery](/shippers/sos-inventory/connect.md). The user signs in and approves access; Owlery handles the credentials from there.

**2. Share sample records**

Share representative sales, purchase, or transfer orders and items. Owlery learns your locations, addresses, identifiers, units, and packaging conventions from the data.

**3. Choose what syncs**

On the SOS Inventory card, click **Settings**. Choose the order types to import, and add [Import Rules](/shippers/import-rules.md) for orders you don't want in Owlery. If your SKU lives in another item field, set it on **Fields & Values**.

**4. Go live**

Owlery tests the sync, turns it on, and monitors the first records.
