Where to find it: Dashboard → Contracts A contract rate is a price you’ve already agreed with a carrier for a lane, which is a set route between stops. Some teams call these rates on file. When you quote or tender a load on a lane with an active contract rate, Owlery prices it for you. Each rate is for one carrier and one lane. It also sets the equipment type, the mode (full truckload or less-than-truckload), the price, and an optional date range.

Getting Rates Into Owlery

  • Add them yourself: one at a time or by CSV upload. See Managing Contract Rates.
  • Run an RFP: your carriers bid on your lanes, and the bids you award become contract rates. See RFPs.
  • Add fuel surcharges: link a fuel schedule to a rate so Owlery adds fuel automatically. See Fuel Surcharges.

The Three Tabs

When you open the page, you’ll see three tabs:

Understanding the Contracts Table

Each row represents one contract rate. If your organization belongs to a parent organization, the parent’s contract rates show up here too. An icon on the row marks each rate that comes from the parent. Click any row to open a detail drawer with two tabs:
  • Details: Full breakdown: carrier, every stop with appointment times, equipment, rates (FTL stop-count ranges or LTL pallet/weight tiers), extra stop charges, line items, and who last updated it.
  • Fuel Schedule: Appears only if the rate has a linked fuel surcharge table. Shows the full tiered fuel price → surcharge mapping.

Build Contract Loads

Build Contract Loads creates and tenders many loads on one contract rate at once. Pick a contract, set the dates and number of loads, and submit. This needs the Build Contract Loads add-on.
If a rate won’t match a lane: make sure the stop addresses match your saved Facility Profiles, and that your shipment dates fall inside the rate’s active dates.
