Katana Configuration Reference

Where to find it: Settings → Integrations. On the Katana card, click Settings. You can change these in Settings. Changes save automatically and take effect on the next sync.

Import Rules

Katana connections have the shared Import Rules: pause sync, choose order types, and exclude orders by order number, status, customer, location, and more.

Fields & Values

Setting	What it controls
BOL delivery contact	Put the delivery contact from the Katana order on the BOL, or read it from a custom field if your team keeps it in one
Facility contact sync	Fill facility contacts, such as the BOL contact, from Katana. Off by default so contacts entered in Owlery aren’t overwritten. Most helpful when you ship mostly to residential addresses

Setting	What it controls
Initial history	Run a full sync when historical records are needed
Exact lookup	Find an order by its Katana order or transfer number
Item identity	Preserve variant IDs while interpreting SKU, name, and unit data
Tracking write-back	Turn on the supported carrier-specific fulfillment workflow

Owlery maps Katana statuses to Owlery statuses and creates facilities from your Katana locations automatically. These aren’t settings.

Authentication Details

Katana uses OAuth 2.0: you approve access once in Katana, and Owlery keeps that access current automatically. See Connect Katana to Owlery. Read access can include orders, fulfillments, locations, customers, suppliers, variants, products, materials, and inventory. Write access to sales-order fulfillments is needed only when tracking write-back is on.
